Never in my life had I ever thought of falling in love with my best friend. I never imagined a future family with her. I am Kyle and she鈥檚 my best friend Nicole.
We lived an ordinary life in an ordinary place. We lived a simple lifestyle, yet there鈥檚 happiness and contentment. We鈥檝e shared the best of our childhood and made each moment memorable and worth treasuring. But in spite of these, there鈥檚 still something missing. Something that could give us comfort in times if trouble and weary mind. So we promised each other that we will build our own tree house. At our young age, it may be impossible for us to build it but we know that someday, this dream will meet its fulfillment.
Though we may have a happy life, life doesn鈥檛 always happen the way you want it to be. It began when Nicole had to leave and study somewhere distant from me. Being of my age, I wasn鈥檛 able to do anything. It鈥檚 even harder that there鈥檚 nothing I can do but wait. The least thing I can do is to wait for her return and hope her best.
As years of loneliness grows, the hope that she鈥檒l come back again someday. And if ever that happen it happens, I鈥檒l hold her like no one could ever like her again.
Holding on to my only hope, I decided to begin the fulfillment of a broken dream. I started to build the tree house that we once promised to each other. I started to fulfill our dream.
Yes, fate maybe the reason why we parted ways but destiny will take us back to each other鈥檚 arm. Now, destiny has turned the wheel. My most awaited moment has come and now she鈥檚 back to where it all begun. Finally, Nicole came back. I know that she will visit the place where we promised to build a tree house. So I prepared everything that I will need and planned a special surprise for her. As I have expected, she came and visited the place. She was really surprised upon seeing the tree house. I can see it in her face from where I am. Then she went inside, that was the cue I was waiting for. I slowly walked behind her and whispered: 鈥淭his is my promise, the tree house that we once dreamed of鈥. She turned to me with teary eyes and hugged me like a child holding her long lost beloved doll. 鈥淚鈥檝e waited for you all the time and now that you鈥檙e here, I will never let you go again. I want to live the rest of my life with you. I want to wake up in the morning with you beside me. I love you鈥, I added. Then, she held my hand and said, 鈥淚 want you to take care of me. I love you too鈥
