As for the first post, try re-installing the game?

Option 1
1. Uninstall game
2. Delete Eudemons Folder from wherever you installed it (C:\Program Files\ by default)
3. Install again

Option 2
Find somebody who does not have such problem and copy contents of .\data\petFace\round\ folder from him.

Apparently your image files are corrupted or missing.

Well, idk if copying those files would really help. Re-installing probably would if done correctly.
Just all such problems happen because of 3 different reasons:
1) corrupted internal game configuration tables (mainly pointing what resource should be used for this and that)
2) old video card/drivers, not really willing to co-operate with Direct3D, DirectDraw
3) missing/corrupt files - in this case game either crashes or uses "blank". This is the most common reason. In either case there should be something written in LOG.

Well reinstallation will seem like the best method as it will decrease the amount things they can mess up XD

rofl happened to me once when i 1st started it was a clich in my patch i downloaded just redownloaded the damaged patch and all was fixed
