based from the screenshot you have high BP than King, your BP is 573 and King is 568. That could be the reason you were able to beat him, I'm not sure if king is using all his pet that time

Well, for attacker it's a bit hard to win if you don't have at least +10 pot over opponent cause you cannot attack instantly. Say - my pot is 317 (warrior), defendant has 322 (mage). Normally I could pawn him (CC char while thundering his best mage pet). However, the fight is kinda buggy, character locations are not showing up correctly and usually the picture is like - 2 characters fighting with thin air.
